Merstone Rosé 2022 wins Bronze at WineGB East Awards 2023

On the sunny Saturday of August 19th, 2023, we attended the WineGB East Award 2023 event at Burnt House vineyard in Suffolk. For the competition, we entered our Merstone Rosé 2022 in the Rosé section.

When we arrived at Burnt House vineyard in Suffolk for the WineGB East Award 2023 event, we received a warm welcome from the Burnt House vineyard family and staff. It was great to have the chance to chat with other vineyard owners and regional winemakers and to try their wines. It was a lovely opportunity to connect with other people who share the same passion for wine and winemaking.

After looking forward to the announcement of the 2023 award winners at the WineGB East Award event, we were thrilled to hear that we had won the Bronze medal for our Merstone Rosé! This is a huge accomplishment for us, especially since this was our first wine. And the story behind this wine is really something special - our blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier with a dash of chardonnay, originally meant for our sparkling wine, which turned out to be too high in alcohol for the secondary fermentation. But it took a different route and became this amazing and limited edition Rosé.

We owe a big thanks to our community and staff who helped us in the production of this wine. We can't wait to see what's next for us, including an upcoming wine tasting in September! So stay tuned! In the meantime, we still have the freshly awarded Merstone Rosé available for you to enjoy during the remaining warm and sunny days of the season.
