We have some Exciting news to share! Merstone wines have won not just 1, not just 2, not just 3, but 4 medals at the IEWA 2024 Competition.
Let's give you a bit of context.
It's the end of April, and we're all getting super busy with bottling our 2023 wines and preparing our wine tasting tours. On the 5th of May, we decided to enter the IEWA 2024 competition and had to decide which wines to submit.
Due to the delay in bottle delivery, our 2023 wines were just bottled. Andrew decided to enter them in the competition prior to their official release, which is coming soon!
Andrew and his family all gathered to discuss which wines to submit. They strongly suggested including the Chardonnay 2022, a family favorite and truly delicious wine, among the 2023 entries. Even a guest at one of our wine tastings, who generally doesn't like Chardonnay, praised the Merstone Chardonnay 22. This feedback was another reason for us to enter the Chardonnay in the competition. It's not just our favorite; it's genuinely good!
So, we entered the Chardonnay 22 and the three upcoming Merstone 2023 wines, including Ortega, Bacchus, and Pinot Blanc, on May 5th.
The stress started to build up as we awaited the results. While on a short holiday in Greece, we received the results of the IEWA 2024. We were thrilled to learn that all four wines entered won medals. The Chardonnay 2022 won Silver, and our upcoming wines all won Bronze. This is exciting news, as our upcoming wines have already been awarded for their excellent taste! It won't be long before we launch the upcoming Merstone Ortega 23, Bacchus 23, and Pinot Blanc 23. You can already taste them during tours, and in a few weeks, you will be able to purchase them from our shop, website, and during wine tours. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about their launch.
As for the Chardonnay 2022, it's already available on our website and you can buy the bottles from our shop during wine tours and tastings or you can contact us to come a pick up a bottle directly from the Vineyard. Notes that this delicious wine stock is seriously reducing so if you'd like to try it make sure to have your hands on it before it's gone !
Be ready for a lot of announcements in the coming weeks; it will be very exciting!
